Hey, my friends. Welcome back to Let’s Encourage One Another.
In case you haven’t noticed it, we’ve kind of had a theme going on these past few weeks, and that is finding God in the silence.
In episode 91, we talked about those moments when God is silent, when we are seeking Him about something and yet don’t hear anything back.
And then in episode 92, I invited you to practice the holy hush this holiday season instead of the holiday hustle—you know, embracing those moments of silence and stillness together with God. Recognizing God as Emmanuel, God with us.
So when I saw Celia Miller’s Advent devotional called Be Still & Know and have been reading about her own journey into silence and stillness, I invited her back to the podcast to share with us.
Celia and I spoke about spiritual practices back in episode 63, so if you haven’t listened to that yet or want to get to know Celia better, then definitely go back and check that out.
For today, we talk about how Celia was introduced to the spiritual practice of silence, her initial response, ways we can incorporate silence into our daily lives, and why silence with God can be so powerful.
I’d love to go through Celia’s Advent devotional together with you this year, so you can find the link to that in the show notes below, as well as to other Advent resources. Silence is one of the practices we talk about in there as we bring our grief and heartache to God in our journaling, so it’s a great chance to learn more and have me there with you as your spiritual director and writing guide. You can learn more and start right away at lovedoesthat.org/journalgently.
Alright, now for my conversation with Celia Miller…
